Guys, in 12 days I get to marry my favorite person ever. So cheesy, I know, but I can’t help it. We are only 12 days away. That’s it. I’m pretty sure yesterday it was 6 months, and then I blinked, and now here we are. Less then two weeks and I will be a married woman.
These days Chase and I basically alternate betweening bickering over silly things that don’t matter and then not being able to be more than 2 inches away from each other. Planning a wedding at the place you currently live will do that to you, but it’s okay because right after the wedding we honeymoon for 2 weeks. Two. Whole. Weeks. It is that thought alone that is getting me through wedding planning, work, house renovating, and fighting a cold that is insisting on bringing me down.
The 20 day mark was last Sunday, and with that so was the beautiful bridal shower that my lovely sister, bff, and Maid of Honor threw me. Of course, with help from my bridesmaids and mom(s). Jillian knows me pretty damn well, so really it’s no surprise that I loved every single decoration and finishing touch. But still, it was perfect and I was so happy with how everything looked. SO many wonderful women came and it was weird to think that everyone was there to “shower” me. The whole getting married thing and all the strange rituals that come along with it is kind of surreal. The bridal showers, engagement parties, bachelor and bachelorette parties, the rehearsal dinner and then the actual wedding. You get to force a bunch of your favorite people to come do all these things with you, when else in life does that happen?
Anyways, here are some photos from last weekend. I bet you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed the shower. (Haha, doubt it. Actually..if you do, that’s just weird.)
I ordered the amazing rag garland from this Etsy shop. I can’t wait to use it again at the wedding. My lovely cousin and bridesmaid made caramels as part of the favors, and mom #2 has been hand painting all the signs we are using for the wedding, some of which we used at the shower. They are perfect.
My absolute favorite part was the champagne fountain complete with little cherubs. There is just something about the soft trickle of champagne in the background of a party, am I right?! We had quiche for breakfast and cupcakes right after (Or if you were me, you had a cupcake, some quiche, and another cupcake…). The cupcakes had little flags stuck in them that read “Muggle to Mrs.” That, of course, made me squeal with delight. I love all things Harry Potter.
There was bridal bingo and then Mad Libs in the form of vows. The Mad Libs were another favorite of mine. The results varied from naughty to heartfelt, I started to read some out loud and then quickly changed my mind. Chase’s grandmother wrote the most adorable and touching Mad Lib that I am going to have to use it to refer to when writing my vows. (Thanks grandma Mitzy!)
All in all, it was a beautiful day that I got to spend with my favorite ladies. Feeling loved is really just the best feeling.
