Best Ever Chili

Yesterday was the first, official day of fall. Hallelujah! Snuggle weather is finally heading our way. It was also one of the few days in a long time that it was under 80 degrees and actually cold at night here in small town Northern California. I was so excited to wear jeans, is that weird? Fall clothes come second, however, to fall food. In my life, most things come second to food. I baked my banana bread  recipe earlier this week and I’m not stopping there. Today I bring you crockpot chili. Thats right, dust off your crockpot and get ready for cornbread, because […]

The Perfect Bridal Shower

Guys, in 12 days I get to marry my favorite person ever. So cheesy, I know, but I can’t help it. We are only 12 days away. That’s it. I’m pretty sure yesterday it was 6 months, and then I blinked, and now here we are. Less then two weeks and I will be a married woman. These days Chase and I basically alternate betweening bickering over silly things that don’t matter and then not being able to be more than 2 inches away from each other. Planning a wedding at the place you currently live will do that to you, […]

A Really Long Post About A Really Gross House

So for some crazy reason Chase and I thought it would be a good idea to get married and buy a house at the same time. This means while I am calling the florist to discuss the ever-important flower crowns we are also getting calls from the water company that they are turning on our water without us being there. Which then results in waterfalls springing out of the walls in various places of the house because we have taken off all the plumbing fixtures! Super fun stuff. What is a remodel without its quirks, right? This past weekend Chase and I left […]

Iced Green Tea Latte

I bring you….another green sludge drink! Just kidding, it’s a delicious green tea latte. I’m one of those people who enjoy an afternoon pick-me-up, but sometimes coffee just isn’t what I’m feeling. Which is mostly because I drink at least 2 cups in the morning, so by time I need another caffeine fix I’m ready to switch it up. The caffeine addiction is real over here. I love getting one of these bad boys at Starbucks, but I hate paying the money for it. I doubted myself at first, but after doing some research and giving it a try I realized how […]

Things We’ve Learned During House Demo

For the first time in a long time I was ready to welcome this week’s Monday. Not because I was looking forward to a productive day or anything like that (Ha, ya right), but because I wasn’t going to be doing manual labor all day! At least, not until Chase got off work and we headed back to the house to finish ripping up carpet. Actually, it hasn’t been that bad. However, I do not remember the last time I have done this much manual labor. Which is sad. My body hurts all over, in places I didn’t know could hurt. With two […]

We Bought a House!!

Chase and I are one of the millions of Americans that obsess over the HGTV show Fixer Upper. We binge watch it as soon as new seasons are released on Netflix and if there is a marathon on tv (there always is) then we binge watch it there too. We are at the point of seeing a couple episodes twice and we seriously consider watching some a third time. We refer to Chip and Joanna Gaines (the hosts, for those of you that live under a rock) as if we know them personally and laugh at their inside jokes that make […]

Southwestern Quinoa Salad & BBQ Chicken Quesadilla

One of my favorite things about summer is how much easier it is to eat a little healthier. It’s so darn hot that nobody really wants to cook or eat anything that’s too heavy. Salads sound much more appetizing. Why can’t I feel that way year round? This Southwestern quinoa salad has fresh veggies and tons of flavor, I’m salivating just thinking about it. It’s great when served warm right after you prepare it and then cold the next day. A tip for this recipe, the leftovers are even better because it gives the dressing a chance to soak into everything. So […]

Lavender Lemonade Cocktail

In case you weren’t sure what your cocktail for this weekend was going to be, I’ve got you covered: Vodka Lavender Lemonade. What? Am I the only one who plans their adult beverages for the weekend? If you like smelling lavender, you are going to love drinking it. This cocktail is light and refreshing and perfect for these brutally hot summer days we have been having. The first thing you need to do is make the lavender simple syrup, which sounds like a chore but is really quite quick and easy. AND it makes your kitchen smell heavenly. I purchased […]

Creamy Red Pepper and Garlic Pasta with Blackened Chicken

Whenever I ask Chase what he wants for dinner the answer is almost always pasta. He doesn’t care what kind, he doesn’t even care if it has meat in it(which is a big deal for him), it’s just gotta be carbs that have been boiled in water. It’s not hard to please that guy. This recipe is one that appears in our house almost every week, and for good reason. It’s delicious, for starters, and it’s easy. Oh and it’s pretty. I made it once for my parents and some of their friends and it was a huge hit. Which […]

4th of July + Champagne Pancakes

Who doesn’t love all things American? Such as but not limited to: red, white, and blue manicures, American flag crop tops, and patriotic food? The 4th of July just reeks of freedom, if freedom smells like hot dogs and beer that is. I got to spend mine in Tahoe with Chase and his family and a couple of our friends. We went to an awesome concert on Friday, the Eagles and Elton John cover bands, and funnest part is always watching all the old people really get down. Like really get down. They have not one care in the world […]
