The Tile Affair

As I sit here writing this post there are people in our house laying flooring right now. Right. Now. Flooring is going down. Do you know how big this is? DO YOU?! In case you didn’t know, flooring is one of the final steps to renovation. So I am excited. However, I am trying not to get too excited, because when I do something bad always happens. For those of you who follow me on Snapchat, I did a bunch of posts in the beginning of the month before we left for a week long vacation. While we were gone […]

I Survived a Week in Cabo with My Entire Family

So maybe that title is a little dramatic, but anybody with a big family understands. In all seriousness though, Chase and I just spent the best week ever in Cabo with my family. I don’t think a single thing could have gone better. Which I keep thinking back on now that we are home with bags packed and waiting by the door in case the Oroville Dam breaks and we need to evacuate. So instead I am going to do some daydreaming about the wonderful vacation we just went on! My stepmom, or mom #2, is a pretty great vacation […]

No Bake Oreo Truffles

Happy February! I am still in awe that January is over…how did that happen? Where did it go? I have no complaints, that just means we are in MOVE IN MONTH!! Yes, this is a recipe post, but until we move into our house (and probably after) there will always be mention of the house. I should do another update post on the new front door and paint alone….so dreamy. ANYWAYS, these oreo truffles. They are to die for. One of my college roommates (and bridesmaids), Ashley used to make these for me. She would make them for a special occasion and […]

This House is Almost A Home

I’m back again with another house update and let me tell you we have some serious progress! No more holes in the walls, floors, or ceilings. No more scary bugs hiding around every corner. (I’m looking at you, black widow infested spare bathroom.) While the outside of the house is something that will get done later in the year, the inside has come so far. It looks like we will be moving in NEXT MONTH. As we get closer Chase and I are slowly turning into giddy children on Christmas Eve. Sometimes I have to ask Chase to pinch me […]

Turkey Bacon Wrap with Jalapeno-Pomegranate Jelly

So instead of resolutions I decided to start 2017 with recipes. It just seemed more me, and I am 1,000 times more likely to stick to new recipes than resolutions. This may not make any sense to all you resolutioners out there so let me explain: Every year I will tell myself I have these resolutions and then do absolutely nothing to keep them. I don’t go to the gym, I don’t wake up earlier, I don’t do yoga every morning….you get it. So this year I decided that I would cook more. Now, I already cook quite often. I love […]

What Deadlines?

Remember that funny thing I said in a blogpost a couple months back about how we were going to be in the house by Christmas? HA..ha….haha. I think deep down I knew it was never going to happen but I was choosing to go the wishful thinking route. We do, however, have walls now! Which may not sound like much but the place practically feels livable compared to when we started. We are finally in the stages of putting things back together instead of tearing them apart, and it feels damn good. It has been far too long since I’ve […]

The Honeymooners-Part Two

I never meant for these two posts to have such a large gap in them. I was ready to jump back into blogging, head first and ready to go. Then the flu came. Oh, and it came with a vengeance. As I was cursing myself for not getting the flu shot I was asked by roughy 57 people, “Did you get the flu shot?” No, of course I didn’t. That would be way too sensible. So I laid around for 4 1/2 days, which sounds really great but it was actually the kind of sick where you question if you were […]

The Curious Thing About Twenty-Six

So I’ve been thinking about writing this post since the 6th, the day before my birthday. Birthdays are these big, weird things that change drastically as you get older. As a child they are the best day of the year, a whole day dedicated to you. As you grow older you begin to dread them. You pass 21 and suddenly you want to stop, to slow down time. I’m still young, so young, and I am perfectly aware of that. I’m happy about that. However, for people my age the big, scary age is 25. You hit 25 and suddenly you’re […]

The Honeymooners-Part One

One of the adult, married couple decisions we made while on the honeymoon was that from now on whenever Chase and I are on a vacation we are going to say we are on our honeymoon…this may sound wrong, it may sound like a lie (which it is), but people just love honeymooners. Like it brings other people actual joy when they come across a couple that is on their honeymoon. We met so many people that were more excited for us then we were. Besides all the free food, which was mostly dessert, honeymooning is just plain fun. We decided we […]

Back to Real Life

It feels SO good to be back to my little blog! This has definitely been on the back burner lately…getting married tends to take front and center ya know? I have so much to update you all on, because I know everyone who reads my blog (Hi, moms!) is just dying for another post. Since this blog is kind of like my diary, all the boring and not so boring details will go into it, but I’ve already warned you guys about that. Perhaps my favorite part about deciding to make this blog public to my family and friends is that now I […]
