How to Eat and Drink Your Way Through Austin

My sister and brother-in-law live in Austin, Texas. Just about every time I talk to her (which is basically everyday) I tell her to move home already. I mean, I get it, Austin is a cool town and all but this long distance relationship just isn’t my style. So Chase and I constantly tell her and Cody (brother-in-law) to move home. They probably talk about how annoying we are, but whatever works, right? Last weekend we took a trip to Austin for my sister’s graduation. She’s a badass and graduated nursing school last Saturday. We have been to Austin once […]

A Day at Shiplap Disneyland

This post is SO over due…..it’s been weeks since we got back from Texas. I have a good excuse, I promise. As most of you already know because you follow me on social media, we finally moved into our house!!! Now I am sure you are saying,  “What?! Then where are the pictures? We want proof!” We still have a few things to get done. While it is finally far enough along to live in we are still missing a couple things like drawer pulls, vanity lights, an island countertop….the list goes on. However it is a great feeling to […]

Antiquing Our Way Through Texas

Chase and I just returned from our amazing trip to Texas with his parents. There is an antique fair that goes on twice a year, in the spring and fall, and they always attend. They fly out, rent a U-Haul, fill it up, and drive it back to California. Their home and ranch is filled with the most beautiful antique pieces. Chase and I are also antique lovers and have frequented the many shops in our area. Well let me tell you, we are now ruined. This year John and Trish (my in-laws) invited us to come along with them, […]

I Survived a Week in Cabo with My Entire Family

So maybe that title is a little dramatic, but anybody with a big family understands. In all seriousness though, Chase and I just spent the best week ever in Cabo with my family. I don’t think a single thing could have gone better. Which I keep thinking back on now that we are home with bags packed and waiting by the door in case the Oroville Dam breaks and we need to evacuate. So instead I am going to do some daydreaming about the wonderful vacation we just went on! My stepmom, or mom #2, is a pretty great vacation […]

The Honeymooners-Part Two

I never meant for these two posts to have such a large gap in them. I was ready to jump back into blogging, head first and ready to go. Then the flu came. Oh, and it came with a vengeance. As I was cursing myself for not getting the flu shot I was asked by roughy 57 people, “Did you get the flu shot?” No, of course I didn’t. That would be way too sensible. So I laid around for 4 1/2 days, which sounds really great but it was actually the kind of sick where you question if you were […]

The Honeymooners-Part One

One of the adult, married couple decisions we made while on the honeymoon was that from now on whenever Chase and I are on a vacation we are going to say we are on our honeymoon…this may sound wrong, it may sound like a lie (which it is), but people just love honeymooners. Like it brings other people actual joy when they come across a couple that is on their honeymoon. We met so many people that were more excited for us then we were. Besides all the free food, which was mostly dessert, honeymooning is just plain fun. We decided we […]

4th of July + Champagne Pancakes

Who doesn’t love all things American? Such as but not limited to: red, white, and blue manicures, American flag crop tops, and patriotic food? The 4th of July just reeks of freedom, if freedom smells like hot dogs and beer that is. I got to spend mine in Tahoe with Chase and his family and a couple of our friends. We went to an awesome concert on Friday, the Eagles and Elton John cover bands, and funnest part is always watching all the old people really get down. Like really get down. They have not one care in the world […]

Bottling Our Wedding Wine

Last weekend was chock full of wedding-ness. We decided a couple months back that we would purchase a barrel of wine for the wedding. My dad and future father-in-law wanted to split a barrel, so whatever is left after the wedding they keep in their cellars (they take the term Wine-o to a whole new level). However, knowing our family and friends I don’t think there will be as much wine left as they think…. So we caravanned to Livermore early Saturday morning, and by the way, nobody told me that Livermore was so awesome. They have a great downtown area and […]

Memorial Day Weekend Recap

Can someone please tell me how it is June already? Like, what? Wasn’t it just January? Or March? I swear that these days all you have to do is blink and Spring is over. Which is a bummer because Spring is possibly one of my favorite times of the year. Now we are in June and the weather is already in the triple digits. But I didn’t let Spring go out without a bang. The fiance and I spent our Memorial Day weekend on Lake Tahoe and it was pure bliss. It had been so long since we were able […]
