We Got A Dog

So we did this thing. This crazy thing (it felt crazy to us…in a good way). We got a dog. We’ve been wanting another furry family member for about the last year and a half, but the timing hasn’t been right. First, we were living in Chico in a 975 square foot condo that had no yard and barely a deck. Then, we moved home because we were buying a house, but that house fell through. I don’t think I’ve told you guys that story yet. THEN, we bought our house, the dream house. However, it was not livable. Even […]

The Curious Thing About Twenty-Six

So I’ve been thinking about writing this post since the 6th, the day before my birthday. Birthdays are these big, weird things that change drastically as you get older. As a child they are the best day of the year, a whole day dedicated to you. As you grow older you begin to dread them. You pass 21 and suddenly you want to stop, to slow down time. I’m still young, so young, and I am perfectly aware of that. I’m happy about that. However, for people my age the big, scary age is 25. You hit 25 and suddenly you’re […]

Back to Real Life

It feels SO good to be back to my little blog! This has definitely been on the back burner lately…getting married tends to take front and center ya know? I have so much to update you all on, because I know everyone who reads my blog (Hi, moms!) is just dying for another post. Since this blog is kind of like my diary, all the boring and not so boring details will go into it, but I’ve already warned you guys about that. Perhaps my favorite part about deciding to make this blog public to my family and friends is that now I […]

The Perfect Bridal Shower

Guys, in 12 days I get to marry my favorite person ever. So cheesy, I know, but I can’t help it. We are only 12 days away. That’s it. I’m pretty sure yesterday it was 6 months, and then I blinked, and now here we are. Less then two weeks and I will be a married woman. These days Chase and I basically alternate betweening bickering over silly things that don’t matter and then not being able to be more than 2 inches away from each other. Planning a wedding at the place you currently live will do that to you, […]

Things We’ve Learned During House Demo

For the first time in a long time I was ready to welcome this week’s Monday. Not because I was looking forward to a productive day or anything like that (Ha, ya right), but because I wasn’t going to be doing manual labor all day! At least, not until Chase got off work and we headed back to the house to finish ripping up carpet. Actually, it hasn’t been that bad. However, I do not remember the last time I have done this much manual labor. Which is sad. My body hurts all over, in places I didn’t know could hurt. With two […]

We Bought a House!!

Chase and I are one of the millions of Americans that obsess over the HGTV show Fixer Upper. We binge watch it as soon as new seasons are released on Netflix and if there is a marathon on tv (there always is) then we binge watch it there too. We are at the point of seeing a couple episodes twice and we seriously consider watching some a third time. We refer to Chip and Joanna Gaines (the hosts, for those of you that live under a rock) as if we know them personally and laugh at their inside jokes that make […]

Bohemian Bridal Inspiration

So if you haven’t guessed by now, there are going to be a few wedding posts on the blog for the next several months. Thats what happens when you are planning a wedding. You feel the need to buy all the white outfits, you become obsessed with flowers, and you put a lot more thought into cake then you ever have before. My biggest wedding inspiration has been all things bohemian. I. Am. Obsessed. It didn’t help that the first place we looked at wedding dresses was the Anthropologie bridal shop. It was bohemian bride heaven. But who am I […]

Enjoy Every Damn Day of Being Engaged

Chase and I are currently in the thick of planning our wedding. Yesterday I finally found THE  dress. And I mean it, when you see this dress you are going to want to wear it to your wedding, whether you are male or female. Okay, so maybe not, but that is how every bride should feel about their dress. I loved dress shopping. I loved trying on pounds of lace and tulle and having someone dress me like a life-sized barbie and then standing up on a platform and having some of the most important women in my life let […]

Feeling Twenty-Five

Twenty-five is one of those great, big monumental ages. Not in the way that 18 or 21 are, but in a way that it seems more becomes expected of you. You really start “adulting.” It is supposedly the age where being a twenty-something isn’t necessarily an excuse for being unprepared for life (but really, who is ever actually prepared for life?). It is a scary and unknowing time in my young adult life, but so far it has been my absolute favorite. I am forever going to remember 25 as when I got engaged and then married! At 25 I […]
